I heartily approve of this book.  The illustrations and simple story draw both children and the reader into it. There is also If You Give a Moose a Muffin and If you Give a Pig a Pancake. 

All three stories offer numerous opportunities to find things in the lovely illustration, there is some new vocabulary as well. 

An amusing read.
