I've been reading this book to my little boy for 3 years - he's 6 and he still loves it. It really is a clever story with a sweet ending.

This might be my little boy's all-time favorite book. He is crazy about machines and construction-in-general, but I think that he also identifies with the clever little boy who plays a key role in the story. This is a can't-miss classic. It also connects in a small-but-clever way with another Burton book, The Little House.
