In this retelling of a Ukranian folk tale, a little boy asks his grandmother to knit him mittens that are as white as snow. She warns him that they will be hard to find if he loses them, but he insists. Sure enough, he loses one while out playing. While he searches for it, a successively-larger stream of animals seeks warmth inside the mitten, making bigger-and-bigger.

This book's artwork is truly extraordinary.  I was always happy to read it to my little ones just to enjoy Jan Brett's remarkable art.  The story is fun and it will surely keep the attention of the youngest readers.
