This book might just have the most beautiful artwork that I have ever seen in a children's book.  It is utterly captivating.  It's also my favorite Christmas-related book.

I can think of very few authors with such magic in their story telling and illustrating than Chris Van Allsburg.  My son has loved it since he was two, and is five now.
