As much as it makes me sob, I love this book. I have actually used it in the classroom to highlight the economic concepts in the book. The main character makes money and chooses to save up for what he really wants. There is also a very difficult storyline about an accident that happens based on a dare and some bullying. I reccomend this book for older children, but also with someone to talk to them about it and read with them. Literature gives us a safe way to encounter loss - to sort of practice. I think this is a great book but reccomend it as a read together, rather than a read alone.
