There are scads and scads of books on parenting.  Some are very traditional, some are faddish.  Let's get our collective experiences together and figure out which are the best ones.

My wife bought the Supernanny book on a whim.  It was on-sale, and we had seen a couple episodes of the show, so she gave it a shot.  We've been very pleased with the practical, down-to-earth advice, and it is a very browsable book.  It's not a huge investment of time to read.

We've also come to love the TV show a whole lot.  Supernanny clearly has a lot of wisdom about raising happy, healthy, well-adjusted children.
