I recently happened to hear some music by the new band Fleet Foxes, and I bought their album as soon as I could.  The soaring harmonies reminded me of CSNY or the Beach Boys, and the songs were interesting and thoungful.  As I listened to it more-and-more, it occured to me that it might be something that my kids would listen to and enjoy.

I haven't really had a chance to test out my theory, but it got me wondering: what other bands are out there that might make for enjoyable listening for both adults and kids.  Sure, we all know about the Wiggles, Barney and the like, but are you going to listen to them after the kids have gone to bed?  Probably not.

Which artists are the fun middle ground?
